We had our second physiology quiz today. It was a short one, consisting of only 9 questions. After the quiz, I realized that I made some mistakes. Well, I’ll try to work harder for the next quiz! We had our physiology lecture after that. The topic taught today was the Digestive System. As usual, Dr Lau showed us many videos which made the lesson much more lively and interesting. Lesson ended at around 12pm and the class then discussed on the details of our Cultural Exchange Performance. It was scheduled on next wed, after our common test. After a long discussion, we finally concluded with the idea of having a skit which consists of dance and singing. It’s quite a nice idea. I hope it will be a success.
Our Plan for the Cultural Exchange Performance.
Shopping followed after that. We went to this shopping mall near徐东, the same mall we went last time for the western food. We travelled by bus and I must say the whole trip was miserable for us. The bus was so crowded we could not even move a single step. Although the bus was already full, passengers still squeezed onto the bus and the unpredictable stops made by the female bus driver resulted in many of us losing balance and nearly fell. After half an hour of suffering on the bus, we finally reached our destination.

Woots! There is actually a roadside stall selling pets. I saw hamster, rabbit, fish, bird and turtle. But too bad, there was no guinea pig:(
The first stop was lunch at a food court. Many of us had the Dim Sum for lunch. Melissa, Sarah and I shared the food we ordered. I shared a Mango Ice Blended with Sarah too! It was icy and yummy.

After lunch, we started our shopping spree. This time round, most of us bought the converse shoes which we had planned to buy since the last trip. I wanted to buy a pair of shoes by the brand of Vans but there is no size left for me. The size I tried was too bigL Yan Fang, Melissa, Cindy, Kimberley, Letty and some others bought shoes! J
After that, Melissa, Yan Fang and I decided to spend our time in the KTV since there wasn’t much for us to shop. We then proceeded to the KTV at level 6. I must say their service is really good and the staffs are extremely friendly. We were warmly greeted by them upon reaching. However, we had to wait as all the small suites(16 yuan per hour) have been taken. In the end, we took the medium suite, which was slightly more expensive(56 yuan per hour). Their KTV prices were reasonable after comparing with Singapore. The equipments were advanced and songs were updated too! We had a fun time singing there for 2 hours.

We then met up with the rest at 7pm to have our dinner. We had western food again for dinner. This time round, we tried the small shop located in the centre of the shopping mall. The food was not too bad. I tried the Curry Chicken Baked Rice which I think was quite a deli!
Pizza shared among 3 of us.

Look at the cheese! It's making me hungry now.

We proceeded back to our dorms after that by cabs. Yan Fang, Kimberley, Sarah and I took a cab. It was the worst cab experience ever as the driver was unsure of the place. We keep emphasize the road name and the name of the university, as well as the branch, but he somehow couldn’t understand. At one point, we nearly wanted to alight halfway. In the end, we finally managed to let him know the way and reached our dorms safely. He even charged an additional 2yuan fare for petrol. Also, his attitude wasn’t that good. When we reached, we exchanged experiences with the other groups and found out that Cindy’s group met a nice driver who even chatted with them. They were not charged for any additional fare as well. Oh well. We’ll just treat this as an experience.
We went back, wash up and this ended the day. I chatted with my family members today! I’m so glad that technology has allowed us to communicate with each other although we are far apart. Anyway, I roughly had an idea what to get for them. Maybe I’ll go back to the mall near徐东 again to buy a pair of shoes for my cousin and wallet for my Dad.
That’s all for today! Seeya! J
Reflection: I realized that the perception we had on the people of China can sometimes be wrong. We always think that they are uncouth and loud people. However, after my stay in Wuhan for the past 3 weeks, I realized that not all of them are rough and loud. Usually, the uncles and aunties will fall into the loud category :P For those educated, younger generation, they are quite friendly and nice. The local students, Betty and Xin Xin, the shop owners we met, the cab driver Cindy’s group had, as well as the staffs working at the KTV are some good examples. Although we might still get to meet those people who makes us feel uncomfortable, there are still nice people out there. So, let’s change our misconception we used to have on them! J
