It was such a tiring day for all of us today! We climbed the Mount Wudang which took us about 5 hours. I heard that the whole journey, both going up and coming down is about 9km! Can you believe it? The flight of stairs really freaked us out but in the end, with our perseverance, we managed to reach the peak of the mountain! It feels so good to complete the whole journey. The sense of achievement within us was the result of all our hard work. Anyway, I dislike rainy days especially when you have to go on an expedition; in this case, we have to climb Mount Wudang. It’s so troublesome carrying an umbrella along while climbing the mountains!
Look at the twins. They are wearing the same kind of raincoat, polka dots! Haha! :)

At the peak, there is this shop selling locks. The locks were meant to bring goodluck and allow our family members to be safe. Many of us, including me bought one. We could request to carve our family name on the locks too! This will bless the whole family. After doing so, we took photos of the locks and lock it. Below are some photos.

Anyway, when we reached the peak of the mountains, we were freezing! The temperature was so low we could hardly move our hands as they were numb. This is when homeostasis took place. We enjoyed the scenery and took photos before heading down.
Reflections: I learnt a lot today from the climb. We witnessed two incidences. The first one was an elderly man carrying heavy things up the mountain. From the items we seen (there were cup noodles, beer, drinks, biscuits and many more food items), I presumed he was doing that to earn a living. He had to climb all the way up the mountains to deliver the goods to the shop owner. He was trying really hard to take every step forward. Finally, two of the MDE guys, as well as their lecturer, Mr Chia went forward to help him. I heard that the total weight of the foodstuffs is about 100kg. That was really heavy! Also, after he has delivered the goods, he has to make his way down the mountains. Imagine that he has to do this every day to earn a living! I really admire his perseverance and spirit.

Another incident is an elderly woman carrying heavy stuffs up the mountains. From what I know, she’s bringing incense paper and joss sticks up to a temple at the peak of the mountains to pray. I really admire her spirit. Although she was really tired, she still try her very best to push herself up the mountains just to make offerings to her god. When we saw her feeling really tired, we decided to help her. Some of us helped her carry her things while Jasmin and I helped her up the mountains. We shared umbrella with her too. She was really thankful towards us and from our conversation, I realized that she iss 70 this year! She was really strong for her age.
From this climb, I learn to cherish what we have. We should stop complaining about how tough life is and appreciate whatever we have. As compared to many others around the world, we are considered really fortunate.
That’s all for Day 27! Seeya! J
