Day 06 - City Tour around Wuhan

The weather in Wuhan was really hot, highest temperature reached 35 degree Celsius today, which was higher than that in Singapore. Today, we visited the East lake, Hubei Provincial Museum and the Yellow Crane Tower. We went to 江汉路 for a walk too .

First, we started off the day with East Lake (东湖). The place was really big and the scenery was magnificent! I heard that visitors had to pay to enter this place in the past, but now it's free-of-charge and anyone could enter. It's recommended for tourists to visit as we could take beatiful photos here.

Lake with lotus. The signboard was to remind visitors not to pluck the lotus while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Boat services were provided to enable those exhausted visitors to take a rest and take photos. The aunties in charge of this were pestering us to take the rides. They even wanted to lower the price if the whole group wants it. Initially, some of us wanted to take the ride, but time was running out and we had to move on to the next destination, hence we didn't manage to in the end.

The beautiful lake.

This bridge was really pretty. It's suitable for visitors to take photos.

After that, we went to the Hubei Provincial Museum. Not only can we take beautiful photos for memories, we would be able to learn more about China's history and cultures too!

We were given this device to know more about the different exhibits in the museum as we walk around. Since our group has over 20 people, we had a guided tour. This helps us to get around the museum easier. Through asking questions on the doubts we have, we learnt more about the history of China too!

Tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng.

This musical instrument is the older version of piano used by the people of China in the past.

And here's a cup to make it complete.

Right after the visit to the museum, we went to a restaurant for lunch. The food was really delicious. Currently, it's one of the best meal we had in Wuhan. The fish was extremely delicious. I heard that it's a famous dish in Wuhan and it's called Wu Chang Fish (武昌鱼). The other dishes were tofu, veggies, noodles, long beans and seeweed & egg soup. They were not too bad too! Surprisingly, we managed to finish most of the dishes. Perhaps we were just too hungry after the two tours to East lake and the museum.

The spread of delicious food for our lunch.

After lunch, we headed to the Yellow Crane Tower (黄鹤楼). To reach the top of the tower, we had to climb a total of more than 100 steps(i can't remember the exact number :P ), which is equivalent to 9 storeys of our flats. Some of us went up together and were one of the first few to reached the top of the tower. Upon reaching, we were exhausted and were perspiring. However, we felt a sense of accomplishment. It's definitely a good opportunity for us to exercise since we hadn't been exercising recently!

It was such a magnificent view from the highest point of the tower.

Exploring and taking photos.

This building has a tinge of European style.

In China, LSCT students prefer to carry our bags in a different manner:)

Reflection: I think China really has many beautiful places for sightseeing. I love visiting the tourist attractions because we could take many beautiful photos of the places. The buildings look really majestic. I find visiting the Hubei Provincial Museum a good experience as all of us manage to know more about the history and cultures of Wuhan. I enjoyed myself when i was looking around at the different exhibits in the museum. Oh btw, the reason for us to carry our bags in a different manner is because we are afraid that our valuables will be pickpocketed.
That's all for day 06! Bye! :D
