Day 15 - Industrial Visit to Steel & Iron Factory in Wuhan

0Oh! I've been in Wuhan for 15 days already! Can you believe it? Time flies! 19 more days and I will be back in Singapore. Anyway, we had an industrial visit to a Steel and Iron company today. We collected our helmets at room 502 this morning before setting off. It was a short bus ride. We arrived at our destination in about 30min and toured around the factory. We took many photos too! Below are some of the photos.

Here's a photo of the entrance.

Yan Fang and Sarah with their funny faces!:)

Sarah and I.

Yan Fang. Sarah and I think she looks cute here! She looks like some kindergarten kid ready for school! :D

Jasmin.

Hidayah and Cindy.

This slogan(is this a slogan?) was found outside the factory.

All the red-helmets people! We look like some construction workers, don't we?

The lady with the blue helmet is the in-charge. She was briefing us on some safety details and information of the Iron and Steel factory.

After the explanation, we started our tour.

The hot metal. It has a temperature of over 2000 degree celcius!

Smoke produced when the metal was passed through the machine.

Smoky!

The complicated-looking machineries.

Workers at work.

The end products.

After touring around the factory, we went back for an early lunch before having our Physiology lesson. We continued learning the second part of the endocrine system during Physiology lesson today. Lessons ended early at around 1.45pm and we spent the rest of the day rushing through our presentation.

Lunch(Fried rice and Lavender milk tea)

Dinner. It's tomato egg with rice. I shared this with Sarah:)

And i drank this today! It was yummy! :D

Oh btw, I’ll be having presentation tomorrow! Wish me luck! Haha! J

We’ll be having another industrial visit to the coca cola factory tomorrow! It sounds fun! J

That’s all for today! Seeya! :)

Reflection: It was definitely a good experience for us to have the opportunity to witness how iron and steel are made. The whole process was amazing and I heard that the temperature used to compress the metal was set at around 2000 degree celcius. I wonder how the workers are able to endure the heat under this kind of working conditions. It must be a really tough job!
