We had our 3rd lesson of OIE and physiology class today. Today’s OIE lesson was not too bad as compared to the first two lectures. The slides were not as wordy and the speaker did not read word by word from the slides too! She was able to interact with us by coming up with some games. Oh btw, we had a new speaker for todayJ
Eddy, Rani and Hana using itouch for their assignment. We were divided into groups of 3 and each group was given a map of China with 6 pieces of paper on the different parts of China. We were supposed to match them and paste them on the right location on the map. Yan Fang, Sarah and I got 1 out of 6 correct in the end! Haha!
Here's our completed work. We weren't good at these things. But it was fun :D Oh btw, the map of China looks like a rooster!
Yan Fang bought this skewered chicken at a stall along the street. It costs only 2.50yuan, which is considered quite cheap:)
Yan Fang.
During our lunch break, everyone went to the street nearby and bought our lunch. I bought fried rice. Well, it's Melissa's birthday today and we decided to celebrate it with her! Some of us went to the bakery to buy the cake whereas others went back first. We bought a cheesecake for Melissa! :)
When Faith wanted to leave the room, she realized that the birthday girl, Melissa has just arrived outside the door. So, she immediately close the door and distracted her while the rest of us quickly took out the cake. We then lighted the candles and let the birthday girl in.
Lighting the candles. I love the candles! It's in digits instead of those we commonly see in Singapore. However, we were joking about the way to put the candles. If we place it in the wrong direction, 17 will become 71. Haha! :)
We sang a Birthday song and Melissa made a wish.
HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY, MELISSA! :D
Pei Wen dividing the cake into smaller pieces.
Fruity cheesecake:)
After the celebration, physiology class started. Today, we learnt about bones. It was interesting. Dr Lau showed us two videos related to the topic after class. Oh btw, before lessons started today, Dr Lau spent some time talking to us about the future job opportunities and future study route. He compared the differences between BMS, BLT & MBIO. I think i will still prefer to stay in BMS:) It was really useful as i get to know more about how university intake works, as well as the jobs available. He also showed us a video about Susan Boyle from Britain's got Talent. Before she sang, everyone was laughing at her, thinking why this 47 year old woman would come and join the competition. The judges weren't giving high hopes on her. However, when she started singing, her voices filled the whole theatre with power. Everyone cheered and clapped for her, even the judges were impressed. She sang "I Dreamed a Dream" btw. Her voices touched the judges deeply and she entered the next round.
Reflections: Through this story, i realized that each and every one of us has potential. Sometimes, it's just hidden within us. No matter what we do, if we try our best, we would somehow realize the true potential that lies within us.
For dinner, some of us went out to buy takeaway food. I bought xiao long bao and milk tea.
Xiao Long Bao, my sister's favourite!
